10 ‘Inside Out’ Facts To Fill Your Brain With Joy

There are five key emotions in Pixar’s Inside Out: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. But did you know there were originally over 20 emotions that were going to appear? That’s just one of the surprising facts packed into the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies, which journeys deep into the inner recesses of the Memory Dump to bring you this episode all about Inside Out. In the original version of the script, Joy and Fear went on the trip through Riley’s mind; later Pete Docter switched out Fear for Sadness, creating the key dynamic in the movie. Anger was always intended to be played by comedian Lewis Black, from the very first time Docter pitched the movie to Pixar chief John Lasseter. The studio made small changes to the film based on the cultural tastes of specific countries.
