Chloë Grace Moretz Recalls Witnessing Her Two Gay Brothers Being Bullied

by 11/20/2015 18-year-old actress Chloë Grace Moretz is opening up about her experiences growing up with two gay brothers and the heartache of watching them struggle with the anxiety of having to come out and the bullying they both endured as a result. Related: Women Are Twice As Likely To Confront Verbal Homophobes Than Men, New Poll Suggests In a new cover interview with Nylon Magazine, the Kick-Ass actress (who it was recently announced will replace Emma Watson in the live-action Little Mermaid reboot), shares stories from her past. “Back when my mom was in college, when things were more taboo, she had lots of gay and trans friends, people of all shapes, sizes, and colors,” says Moretz. “So we were a very open household. My mom tells us people asked her, ‘Why are you letting your son run around in a pink Power Ranger costume?’ Her answer was: ‘Because he wants to wear it, and it makes him smile.
