The film’s famous ‘quit you’ scene has been re-enacted to raise money for the elderly community. Two senior citizens have taken the roles of Ennis and Jack in the latest interpretation of legendary Oscar-winning film Brokeback Mountain. The pair filmed their own version of the movie’s ‘I wish I knew how to quit you’ scene in a bid to raise money for their local community. A video of the pair’s hilarious performance was posted on YouTube by openly gay activist and charity worker Matthew Hoffman. Hoffman is founder of ‘Tuesdays With Matthew’, an ingenious, feel-good volunteer group for the elder generation, that sees them recreate iconic scenes from popular movies. Although the group’s main aim is to raise money – and have lots of fun while doing it – Hoffman says he likes to make the scenes as realistic as possible, hunting down scenery, props and costumes for his ‘stars’. Money raised from the video is donated to Hoffman’s local community centre and Meals On Wheels – an organisation that helps provide meals to the elderly.
